Digital Storytelling friends Fido from Sweden are returning in strength to present “New creatures in the pet store” on their recent amazing creature VFX work on the films Underworld Awakening and Yoko, as well as an exclusive look into their work on the highly anticipated Norwegian film Kon-Tiki.

Fido track record
Fido has won several awards for outstanding VFX. In 2006 legendary fx-guru Stan Winston helmed the jury at LA Screamfest, and awarded the company prizes for both Best Visual Effects and Best Special Effects for the vampire flic “Frostbitten”.
Since then Fido has done VFX for Tomas Alfredson’s acclaimed ”Let the right one in”, Joe Cornish’s sci-fi thriller ”Attack the Block” and David Attenborough’s BAFTA-winning documentary ”Flying Monsters 3D”.
For Sony Europe’s family adventure “Yoko” Fido not only delivered over 150 CG shots, but also both designed and built the animatronic of Yoko himself; a friendly little Yeti kid abducted from the Himalayas and bound for adventures in Germany.
Another of Fido’s latest project is “Underworld: Awakening” which premiered early this year. For this fourth chapter of the Underworld saga Fido designed and created advanced transformations and gory digital face replacements.
The latest completed feature film project Fido worked on was delivering VFX and Animation for one of the largest films ever in Norway: “Kon Tiki”, an epic drama about the great explorer Thor Heyderdahl’s legendary expedition from Peru to Polynesia in the 1940’s.
On the commercial side Fido has also won several awards for our films, including LIA (London International Awards), D&AD Awards and Epica and has created many international commercial productions for Adidas, Coca Cola, Mercedes, IKEA, Nestlé, Nivea, just to mention a few.
