Frequently Asked Questions

What is the prize draw and how does it work?
Every paid ticket enters a draw for professional software licences, including a one-year Houdini FX licence from SideFX and two V-Ray licences from Chaos. Physical numbered raffle tickets are distributed with paid badges on the day. The draw takes place at the evening reception at Lemongrass. You must be present at the reception to win. Organisers, speakers, sponsors, and complimentary guests are not eligible.

Can I buy a ticket at the door?
We recommend buying in advance. The majority of past Digital Storytelling events have sold out and the number of tickets available for DS20 is limited. Subject to availability, tickets may be purchased on the day.

Bags and coats
Large backpacks and oversized bags are not permitted inside the Tancred cinema. An unmanned cloakroom is available for coats.

Can I photograph or film during the event?
Photography for personal use is welcome. Out of respect for our speakers, please do not film or record presentations without prior permission.

Is DS20 suitable for students and early career professionals?
Absolutely. Across eleven editions, roughly a quarter of our attendees came from an educational background. DS has always brought together practitioners at every stage of their careers — and if you are studying towards one in VFX, film, animation, or creative technology, being in that room for an afternoon and an evening at Lemongrass is one of the most direct professional investments you can make.

What should I wear?
Smart casual. This is a professional industry event followed by a relaxed evening reception.

Are there recommended hotels for attendees travelling from outside Oslo?
Digital Storytelling has arranged a special rate for attendees at Thon Hotel Panorama, conveniently located near Cinemateket. Details on how to claim the discount will be published here shortly.

I have a question not answered here. Who do I contact?
